Value – Self Portrait
Project 7 – Value Self Portrait
In this design my self-portrait occupies most of the composition. There are 9 different value references – white, black and shades in between. I was able to get the different value range by first creating a broad value scale. The grid properly helps to locate the correct placement of all shapes and values to maintain the facial proportions. I avoided outlining facial features and concentrate on the values in the facial features. In the end the final design was executed in a professional manner by paying close attention to detail between the values. Could have been more successful if I glued the different values more neatly.
